Your Bible Lesson For The Day
Who Needs Justification?
Who needs justification and the forgiveness of sins? Asking this question is like asking: “Who needs air to breath, food to eat and water to drink?” Everyone needs justification as much as they need those things. Including you! Why? Let the Bible tell you why.
Look at the general truth stated in Psalm 51:5 that is true about you as well as about everyone else. “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.” So why do you and everyone else need justification and the forgiveness of sins? Because you and everyone else were conceived and born into sin.
Consider what Romans 3:10-12 says: “There is no one righteous, not even one, there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God out, all have turned aside, together they have become worthless; there is not one who does good, there is not even one.” So why do you and everyone else need justification and the forgiveness of sins? Because everyone has failed to do the good that God requires.
Note what Romans 7:18, 19 say: “For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is in my flesh; for the desiring is present in me, but doing the morally good is not; for the good that I desire to do I do not do, but the evil that I do not desire to do this I do.” So why do you and everyone else need justification and the forgiveness of sins? Because everyone has a sinful nature that is morally wicked and causes them to sin every day.
And bear in mind what Psalm 19:12 says: “Who can discern his errors? Pardon my sins of ignorance.” Why do you and everyone else need justification and the forgiveness of sins? Because everyone commits sins every day, even sins they are not aware of.
Last of all, consider the general truth stated in Romans 6:23, “The wages of sin is death.” So, once more, why do you and everyone else need justification and the forgiveness of sins? Because everyone is subject to the punishment of death and damnation for their sins.
And these are the reasons why you and everyone else needs justification and the forgiveness of sins.
