Your Bible Lesson For The Day
What Did God Create On Each Of The Six Days Of Creation?
When you finish a project that you are making, don’t you stand back, look at it, and think to yourself, “Yeah! That looks pretty good?” When God finished creating the heavens and the earth, he looked at what he had made and assessed how it turned out too. Do you know what he made on each of the six days of creation and how it turned out?
The verses of Genesis 1 state that on the first day of creation God made the earth. It was formless and empty and covered with water. Then God said, “Let there be light!” and it became light. He named the light “day” and the darkness “night”. And he saw what he had made, and it was good.
Then on the second day of creation God said, “Let there be an atmosphere in the middle of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” And it became so. And God named this world’s atmosphere “sky”.
On the third day of creation by the power of his word God gathered the waters together and formed the dry land. He then named the dry land “earth” and the bodies of water “seas”. Then God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation.” And it became so. The earth sprouted both plants yielding seed according to their kind and trees producing fruit with seeds according to their kind. And God saw that it was good.
On the fourth day of creation God said, “Let there be luminaries in the expanse of the heavens to separate between the day and the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years.” And it became so. God made the sun to give light and to rule the day and the moon to give light and to rule the night. And he made the stars also. And God saw that it was good.
On the fifth day of creation God said, “Let the waters teem with swarms of small, living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth over the face of the expanse of the sky.” And God created the great sea monsters and all the creatures that live in the waters. He also created the birds of the sky. And God saw that it was good. And as a blessing he told the sea creatures to multiple according to their respective kind and to fill the waters and the birds to multiply on the earth according to their respective kind.
Then on the sixth day of creation by the power of his word God made all the creatures that live on the earth – the domestic animals and the wild animals and the creatures that creep along on the ground. And God saw that it was good. Then God created the human race. He made man and woman in his image and likeness.
And when God had finished, he looked at all that he had made. And how had it turned out? it was very good. As a matter of fact, it was perfect!
